– Theory of Operation – The ‘Wheatstone Bridge’
– Selection of components
– Installation planning
– Preparation of Strain Gages
– Strain gage installation by participants
– Preparation of measuring point
– Bonding with cyanoacrylate adhesive
– Bonding prepared SG on bending beam
– Soldering / strain relief of Leads
– Testing quality of SG installation using multimeter and data acquisition equipment

DAY 2

– Calibration of measurement chains
– Lead wire effects
– Thermal compensation
– Strain gage bridge configurations and use cases
– Adjustment of measurement chains with transducers
– Strain gage installation & measurement by participants
– Installation of gages with epoxy based adhesive
– Measuring point protection with various protective agents and best practices
